What these jobs usually look like
Office build-outs and finish-outs
Running voice and data to a floor plan before the walls close up, then terminating, testing, and labelling once the space is built. Coordinating with the general contractor so the cable is in before the ceiling goes in.
Equipment room cleanup
Rebuilding racks where years of undocumented patches have made it impossible to tell which run goes where. Everything traced, re-terminated on panels, labelled, and documented so the next change is a five-minute job.
Expansions into unwired space
Warehouse mezzanines, converted storage, leased suites next door — space that was never wired for voice or data. Pathway, cable, and jacks installed to match what is already in the building.
Work that comes up regularly
Phone system replacement
Cutting over from an end-of-life system with the numbers, extensions, and voicemail boxes intact, scheduled outside business hours where the cutover warrants it.
Inherited system troubleshooting
Taking over support for equipment installed by a vendor who is no longer around, starting with working out what is actually installed.
Multi-site voice
Linking offices so extension dialling, paging, and voicemail behave as one system across several buildings.
Warehouse paging
Zoned overhead paging designed around the noise floor of the space, so pages are intelligible at the dock without being deafening in the office.
Move and relocation work
Pulling a working system out of one building and standing it back up in another without losing the configuration.
Cable certification
Testing and certifying existing runs when performance is in question, with results documented per drop.
